Why this matters for you

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Legacy Haven?
Legacy Haven offers guided sessions for individuals to reflect on their lives and share meaningful stories, messages, and memories. These are captured in video, audio, or written format to create a lasting legacy for loved ones.

Who is this for?
Anyone who wants to preserve their story, pass on life wisdom, or leave heartfelt messages for family. It’s ideal for older adults, people facing terminal illness, or families wanting to honour a loved one’s life.

What happens during a session?
A trained facilitator gently guides the conversation using curated legacy questions. The session is recorded (audio or video) and professionally edited into a meaningful keepsake. You can also personalise the session with your own questions.

Can I choose what to talk about?
Yes. While we provide a thoughtful question set, you are welcome to choose the topics and stories that matter most to you. This is your space, your story.

Who conducts the sessions?
Our facilitators include trained counsellors, psychology graduates, and legacy professionals experienced in compassionate interviewing, grief support, and memory work.

Where do sessions take place?
Sessions happen in-person (where available in South Africa) at the individuals residence or facility or virtually via Zoom or WhatsApp video, whichever you prefer. We do suggest in person.

What’s included in the package?
Each package includes a guided session, a professionally edited legacy video (long and short format), a portrait photo, and secure digital storage of your materials.

Can I send the video to specific people or save it for future dates?
Yes. You can choose to send messages to particular family members or schedule them to be shared at meaningful future dates (e.g., birthdays or anniversaries).

Is it confidential?
Absolutely. Your recordings are private and only shared with your permission. If you allow us to use your story for marketing, we will get your full approval first and share the video for your approval.

What if I or my loved one has memory loss?
We are trained to work gently with individuals experiencing cognitive decline. Even in cases of memory fading, beautiful and meaningful reflections often still emerge.

How much does it cost?
Our full legacy package is R8,999 (incl. VAT). We also offer payment plans and a small number of subsidised sessions through our Compassion Contribution Model, but there are limited seats.

Can I use this for a memorial or funeral?
Yes. Many families choose to use the short tribute video as a meaningful addition to memorials, slideshows, or keepsake viewing.

What if I just want counselling or to talk things through, not record anything?
We offer Legacy Support Counselling sessions for individuals or families navigating end-of-life, grief, or emotional processing, without documentation.
